Sew Spoiled Fun!

I have made a few updates to this pattern. If you bought the Sew Spoiled Cabrio Tote through my Etsy shop you should have received the updated version through email. If you have not received it please feel free to email me at leah.sewspoiled@gmail.com and remember to state the transaction #. I will gladly send the update to you. YCMT and Above All Fabric has the updated version as well!  After making a beautiful Cabrio Tote in Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane I found a few things that needed to be updated within the pattern. I love that epatterns are every easy to update and modify.  We could work on the Weekender tote together and send pictures of our work at different stages! At the end we could share how we are using our Sew Spoiled Weekender Tote! ( gift, business bag, diaper bag, traveler bag) Also some of you might even find ways to modify the Weekender and I would love to hear how you did it! So if you are interested in a Weekender Sew Along make a post! Let me know

Trying to do the right thing...

It has bothered me greatly that some people, including me , seem to be having a problem with the presentation of my Weekender Tote pattern  as it appears in the Feb./March 2010 issue of Sew News Magazine. It is apparent that a pattern that is originally 19 pages long should not be condensed into 2 pages of helpful tips. So to this end I have decided to try to do the right thing by correcting the problem and offer the full pattern for free on my website.  If there are any problems with the complete version of the pattern, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at leah.sewspoiled@gmail.com. Happy Sewing! ~Leah

Sew Spoiled's Twist on a T-Dress for Adults!

After making the T-Dresses for my little girls with a pattern from Duck Soup Originals , I began to wonder if the same rules could apply for a Mommy version? I bought a small woman size t-shirt and measured how long the t-shirt length needed to be then added the seam allowance to it (.5"). I took a yard, 44 " W X 36" Long, of fabric I had bought and cut it in half width wise now it measured 22"WX 36"L  . I am short so 36" long was way too long, I cut the length of the fabric to approximately 22" but you can decide how long you would like your dress to be. At this time, I have a cut t-shirt and the 2 pieces of flowery fabric measuring 22"X22". My flowery dress fabric was white and see through, so I decided to line my dress as well. I cut out 2 white lining pieces measuring 22"X22" exactly like the flowery dress fabric. I placed the lining piece behind the flowery piece and I treated it as one piece for the remainder of the project

Posh Platypus!

My daughter loves the hit kids show, Phineas and Ferb ! Her favorite character is Perry the platypus . We had trouble finding a Perry in the stores, so we made our own Perry. (Ok truly, he is a little funny looking.)  The pattern is from  Pauline McArthur of  www.funkyfriendsfactory.com , we found it at All Free Crafts.com ! It is super easy!  You will have to increase the size of the templates by 40% but once you do the rest is easy. Follow the step by step pictures with instructions and you will have a p erry  a platypus within minutes! Anyone else a Phineas and Ferb Fan? Happy Sewing! ~leah

Happy Easter!

I did it this year, I got a family picture!! I know this might seem like an easy task but it truly is one of the hardest things for our family to do. One of us hates his picture taken, oops... did I say his...oh well, now you know who it is. The girls have a hard time focusing on the camera and I am usually the only one left looking at the camera, trying to smile. Anyway, I made matching T-dresses and a skirt for myself from Heather Bailey' s, Nicey Jane Collection so we could even match! I love my family and I want to take more pictures of us. What steps could I take to be more successful??  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! ~Leah Psst- Just wanted to let you know the Free Lanyard Tutorial is available for download!
